Elsa is a founding partner of Unit LEGAL, where she coordinates the Tax Law team and is a Tax Arbitrator at CAAD – Administrative Arbitration Center.

Professional Experience

Before founding the firm Unit LEGAL, in 2004, she was an associate lawyer at Capitão, Spain, Rodrigues Bastos, Areia e Associados – Law Firm, between 2002 and 2004 in the tax law department and between 2000 and 2002 at Capitão, Spain, Goes, Miguel, Rodrigues Bastos e Associados – Law Firm.

Practice Areas

As part of his activity, she has been coordinating teams dedicated to supporting clients in international investment operations, as well as restructuring national and international groups of companies, in mergers, acquisitions and spin-offs, including management of tax audit teams.

It also provides advice on indirect taxes, namely VAT, Stamp Duty, as well as on property taxes in real estate transactions. In addition, she has dedicated herself to the area of ​​tax litigation, through support in administrative, judicial and arbitration proceedings, with a very varied range of substantive issues.

Academic Qualifications

She completed her degree in 1997 (Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon), a Postgraduate degree in Taxation in 2001 (ISG – Instituto Superior de Gestão), a Postgraduate degree in Advanced Taxation, from IDEFF – Institute of Economic, Financial and Tax Law, of the Faculty of Law of Lisbon in 2008, as well as a Postgraduate degree in Corporate Law, from the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University in 2007.

In 2002, she also completed the Practical Course in Accounting and Balance Sheet Analysis, taught by the Business Institute of Accounting and Economics. Over the years she has attended several training courses in different areas of Tax Law, Social Security Law and Accounting.
